Computational Mathematics Seminar Wednesday, November 2, 3-4 pm, Thackeray 704 Speaker: Prof. Valery Il'in, Institute of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics, SBRAS Novosibirsk Title: Numerical Approaches for Solution of 3D Complex Helmholtz Equation Abstract: The algorithms of numerical solution of 3D mixed boundary value problems (BVPs),for complex Helmholtz equation, which describes the vector electromagnetic field in frequency domain, are considered. Approximation of BVP is made by divergence free finite volume method, on the base of element-by-element computing the balance matrices and assembling the global system of linear algebraic equation (SLAE). Iterative solution of non-symmetric SLAE is implemented by modified generalized conjugate residual (GCR) algorithm, preconditioned by means of parametrized incomplete factorization procedure. The results of numerical experiments for the model problems are presented.
