Computational Mathematics Seminar September 14, 3-4 pm, Thackeray 704 Prof. Vince Ervin, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Clemson University Numerical Approximation of the Newtonian Film Blowing Problem Abstract: In this presentation we will discuss the numerical approximation of a Newtonian model for film blowing. Under small data assumptions, we show that the approximations for the bubble radius, and the film thickness, converges to the true solution and establish the convergence rates. Numerical results supporting the theoretical convergence rates will also be given.
