Mike Sussman My photograph.

I am on the part-time faculty in the Math Deptartment at Pitt. I worked for many years at Bechtel Bettis Inc. in West Mifflin. My job there involved mathematical modelling of complex engineering systems, numerical analysis of the methods needed for those models, and writing programs to provide numerical solutions.

My interests include numerical methods for partial differential equations, particularly the equations of fluid flow, with a focus on high-performance computing applications.

My office hours are Monday and Wednesday, 2-4:10PM and by appointment.

For Fall 2009, I am conducting labs for the graduate numerical analysis course Math 2070.

For Spring 2009, I will be conducting labs for the graduate numerical analysis course Math 2071.

I presented a Matlab workshop to the Pitt student chapter of SIAM on January 31, 2009.

In Summer 2009, I presented a course on high-performance computing, Math 3040.
