The Vermeer Quest
I have a quest to see all the paintings by Jan Vermeer. I've
seen twenty
two thus far. Below is the full list by location. The asterisks
mark the ones I have yet to see. The Art of Painting was being
restored when I was in Vienna and A Lady Standing at a Virginal was in
Leeds when I was in London. I'll see them both (and more) this summer
at the "Vermeer and the Delft School" exhibit in London. St. Praxedis
is in a private collection but is lent out for display quite often. (2001)
Addendum: I'm now up to thirty, thirty one if you count the new one. (2004)
