Graduate Student Researcher
In 2005, assisted Dr. Beverly Michael in developing Mathematics for High School Teachers, a graduate course for the School of Education.
In 2004, assisted Dr. Paul Gartside and Dr. Beverly Michael in developing The Big Ideas of Mathematics, a capstone course for undergraduate students interested in the history of mathematics, psychology of math learning or math education, and Math Education Internship, the practical component of `The Big Ideas' course. Developing these courses was a part the ESP (Enhanced Secondary Mathematics Teacher Preparation) project, funded by the NSF. The aim of this project was to address the challenges currently faced in the math teacher education in Pennsylvania.
As a teaching assistant of the `Internship' course I worked closely with undergraduate students in mentoring high school students in Pittsburgh public schools through a math research project.
