Neural net examples
- Two-variable example Try looking at the phase
plane and drawing the nullclines. Find limit cycles, multiple fixed points
and other pheneomena by changing the weights and the thresholds and the
time constants.
- Three-variable model showing chaos Try this,
integrate the equations and freeze it in color 1. Then change initial
conditions of u1 from 0.8 to 0.801 and re-integrate. Afetr about 200 time
units the solutions are uncorrelated. This is chaos! Look at a 3d plot of
all 3 neurons, u1,u2,u3.
- Two coupled neural net oscillators Fire this
up to get two coupled oscillators: (u1,u2) and (u1p,u2p). The coupling
coefficients are bee, bie, bei, bii. In u1,u1p are the excitatory cells
and u2,u2p are the inhibitory cells. Thus if all the b's are zero, then
they are uncoupled. When you run this, only the last 20 time units
are plotted. Add the other excitatory variable to compare them (u1p).
Then play around with the coupling -- all b's should be nonnegative.
